Subscription Is Good But……!!!

As technology and the drive for knowledge is growing daily, subscription is becoming somewhat mandatory. I am sure you would have noticed  “subscribe” buttons on many websites to which you might have probably clicked because of interest in a particular thing/s. For those of you who may not know, when you subscribe to a page or article (whatever it is), you receive either a daily, weekly or monthly feed of new information by the specific sites. As some sites would say “subscribe for new feed”. New Feed? To feed is to have an intake of food; To nourish oneself. So even though emailed articles will not be food in the literal sense, it is still considered food. Food which can either be good or bad for your mind, body and soul. Now you see where I’m heading. Look at this subscription picture. Look at the words used, soak it in, then read on.

The word “FREE” alone will attract the eyes and cause you to dive in(subscribe) without really analyzing the factors around the article. Think about the price is right. That’s a deep statement (just four words).

Recently I was surfing the internet and came across an article that said subscribe but I started reading. In doing so, I immediately knew I was not interested because if I were to feed my soul with that “crap”, I would gain a tainted mentality and go downhill. That’s when it hit me, “subscribing is good but..”. Especially for us women, there are many articles and blogs circulating claiming to be uplifting and empowering. However when you read them, it’s only poison. I might be opening up myself for “blows” but it’s the truth. Instead of really touching the lives of women, trying to help them better themselves,  they are sharing information that will cause women to eventually feel excessive hurt. Outside of that, on a general scale, there are many articles that are detrimental to you for personal growth. Unfortunately, they don’t present themselves truthfully and so you (we) subscribe to them. Sometimes, when it’s too late we realize the price or (prize) was not right. Being realistic, I know there is no way we can stop it  because of how sites are built. There are things like “pop ups” that surprises you in the midst of your reading… lol. We can however control our subscribing by being more alert and precise about what food we want to partake in. It’s simple. Good food yield great results, bad food kills. Don’t be misled by all those unhealthy things coated in white. Hebrews 13: 9 says Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

I am sure you observe your surroundings to save yourself from danger. Then apply that same skill when surfing the internet. Be smart and vigilant. Maybe you never really looked at things this way, so I beseech you to try it. It may seem trivial to you but if you really do research on how internet affects lives, you will see how critical it is.  This is all about me learning from you and you from me, so let me know what you think in the comment box below.

Reminder: You are the head and not the tail, above and not under. Follow my blog, follow me on twitter (@arise_woman) and share, share, share. Much Love – Candace.

  1. This is yet another great post by the wonderful Ms. Candace! I feel exactly where you’re coming from. So many people don’t understand how important it is to protect their minds and guard their eyes, which are the “windows to our souls”. if you leave the window open too long, then you’ll have all kinds of things blowing in. So not only to the women, but men as well need to heed Candace’s advice and be very mindful of what you’re Subscribing to.

    Peace & Blessings!

This is a great reminder. This issue and the approach to the issue still applies and is ever more needed today. Be careful of what you feed your soul with.
