It’s a Jubilee year for our blessed twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. In 1962 on August 31st, we gained our Independence, Freedom, and pride from being under the British rules. Since then we have grown dynamically as a people with many humps and bumps along the way but we came very far. To make things even better, we went out to the 2012 Olympics and Keshorn Walcott brought home a gold medal for us in such a golden year. We often say God is a “trini” (as we call ourselves) because he has spared us from many catastrophic events. However, let us not have our heads in the clouds because of his mercy and not see what’s happening on the ground.
OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS – KESHORN WALCOTT (2012), HASLEY CRAWFORD (1976)
As we join together as one in this beautiful cosmopolitan country to celebrate and enjoy this historic and auspicious occasion, let us remember to put God first. Only God got us so far and is able and capable of taking us further. Sweet, sweet T & T we say but we have to keep the sweetness. What is the purpose of sugar if it lost its flavour. Nothing. Be reminded and ENJOY OUR INDEPENDENCE.
Love you to all my fellow country men.
