Silence……. Stand Still

While sitting in the living room, my mind just started pondering on why we go through trials, test, mess and “graha’s” sometimes. I was then directed to Exodus 14. Many of you may not know the story so let me explain. It speaks about Pharaoh letting the Israelites go and then in realizing his mistake, wanted them back. So he sent out his army to retrieve them and the people were filled with fear and started to murmur and complain. They thought, that they had left where they were slaving for a king to be murdered in the wilderness. What they saw was bondage being better than freedom at the time because they saw death. What they didn’t know was, God was getting ready to prove to them that he is God. Moses their leader had to assure them not to be afraid but to stand still. Exodus 14:13 – And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. And so as promised, God parted the sea for them, freeing them of the Egyptians and they never saw them again because they, the Egyptians were swallowed up in the sea.

still

I took sometime to parallel this story to my life and I was consoled. Sometimes we go through things not only to become stronger individuals, spiritually and otherwise but also for God to prove to us that he IS GOD and we should trust him. The one thing that stood out to be was verse 14 which I am growing to love. It says, Exodus 14:14 – The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Look at it clear-fully.  Such a short verse is made up of two important factors. Assurance and a requirement. The assurance is that God WILL fight for us in our battles and the requirement is that we stay QUIET. I got that point very well. Often times, we run to friends, family members and even strangers to complain or share the story as we say and all God wants from us is a still tongue. Many things can be heard, observed and accomplished in SILENCE. I believe God operates better in our silence because our faith seems to be higher than when we babble. God is so powerful and authoritative in doing his work that the enemy will realize his presence and confess it while returning from whence they came. Exodus 14:25 – …………clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians.”

Be_Still

MY SOUL REJOICE in the fact that God is going to fight for me,  the enemy will realize and will have to flee. All he asked for is the silence. Maybe you are going through different events all at once and they seem pretty depressing, I am here to tell you the battle is not yours but it’s the Lord. Just adhere to his request of being silent, have faith and prayer, waiting for the release. Matthew 17:20 – I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  God will do what he says he will do. Stop telling God how big the problem is but tell the problem how big YOUR GOD is. Be encouraged today. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord work you.

LISTEN AND ALLOW THIS SONG TO SPEAK TO YOUR HEART.

God is so amazing. He used one of my pieces to encourage me and remind me of his promise that he will fight for me. Are you going through something today. Be silent and stand still. God will work it out for you.
