What is an embryo? An embryo is the initial stage for the birth of a baby or an unborn or unhatched offspring in the process of development. When we think about a baby, excitement exerts through our bodies. Babies are so sweet and are considered a bundle of joy. Parents, aunties, uncles, the entire family tree waits with baited breath for a baby. Isn’t that something? Would you then consider trouble an embryo? I know. Your mind is going mile a minute now. Stop and ponder on it for a while. Would you consider trouble, burdens, problems, issues of life an embryo? Many of you, if not all, would say no. How can people be excited when trouble is brewing? One thing we all have in common is, we want to live a trouble-free life. A life where there are no, NO’s to hurt us. The reality is however the opposite. With sin being brought into this world, there will be moments of turmoil and distress. I can tell you from personal experiences, sometimes when you get hit by the problem, you feel like giving up. I know of persons who could not endure to the end and took their own lives. That’s how devastating it can be sometimes. My alias (for myself) was “Ms. Lament”. There was no one to complain like me. It was so terrible; it affected me physically and resulted in me being admitted to the emergency room because they thought I was going into cardiac arrest. Hercules had nothing on me when it came to carrying the world on my shoulders. Little did I know, I was carrying an embryo for greatness. My troubles were giving birth to my victory. Through all my years of reading the bible, I never took note of something stated so simple, yet so powerful.
2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 – Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our LIGHT AFFLICTIONS, which are BUT FOR A MOMENT, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of GLORY. While we do not look at the things which are not seen. For the things seen are temporary but the things which are not seen are eternal.
If you have to, read the verses a couple of times and allow it to soak in. Then answer the question again. Would you consider trouble an embryo? According to the verses above, I would say a vehement yes. We often spend time murmuring and complaining about how big the problem is when we should be telling the problem how big God is. Why? God told us what we are facing. Nowhere was it stated that our problems are HUGE and will take forever to get over. If you know the meaning of the word LIGHT, then you will understand the magnitude of what we go through. Our afflictions (troubles) are light and only for a moment. In my opinion that moment is meant to build our faith. Faith is the evidence of things not seen and as it says in the 18 verse, the unseen is eternal (everlasting) compared to the seen. Imagine that loan you have to pay and can’t see the money is working out for an eternal weight of glory. Isn’t that amazing? That house to fix, that troublesome son or daughter, that cheating husband or wife. It Is but for a MOMENT. Just as a mother communicates with the fetus, so to, should we communicate with God during our situations. It is scientifically proven that a baby and mother can communicate even through speaking although the baby is inside the womb. Some says it creates a greater bond between the two. If that is the case, then let’s equate that to our relationship with God during the gestational period for the birth of our victory.
If we communicate with him, won’t we draw closer to his side? Wow! We love to “big up” God but mostly when we are testifying about the victory. What about in the midst of. Earlier on in the same chapter verses 7 – 9 tells us that though we go through, we are unconquered in Christ.
2 Corinthians 4: 7 – 9 – But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on EVERY SIDE yet NOT CRUSHED; we are perplexed but NOT DESPAIR; persecuted, BUT NOT FORSAKEN; struck down but NOT DESTROYED.
So we have ALL grounds to worship in the storm. Understand that your troubles are meant to build you. Do not succumb to the negative thinking of the enemy but abide and trust in the Lord for his word never lies or fails. If he said its light, then it is. He said it is for a moment then it is. He said it will yield eternal glory; then it sure will. Isaiah 41:10 says; Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. YES, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. So stand firm in your troubles knowing that it is the embryo for your victory.
