Are you still living in the Eve Zone? Wondering what it is? It’s the curse. The curse of Eve. I am sure you would say yes because as it known, Eve was cursed of child bearing and because women go through pain when giving birth, it would seem that way. Won’t that then contradict Jesus’s purpose of coming and dying on the cross to REDEEM us of all our sin? Firstly I want to establish that child bearing was not the only curse God gave to women upon the fall of mankind. See Genesis Chp 2 – 3. If you read carefully, you would see, three curses were made, rather than one. I believe something very pertinent which plays an integral role in the way women operates today (myself included) and how society deems the structure of things to be, is often missed when discussing the curse. Only child-bearing is highlighted and even in that, things are misconstrued. In my opinion when God said child-bearing it did not specify birth (labour) only but rather meant the entire responsibility of raising and nurturing children. Perfect example is Cain and Abel; Eve’s sons. Could you imagine the pain and sorrow brought upon Eve when Cain murdered Abel? If the curse of child-bearing meant labour only, then pain would have ran its course and ended after the babies popped out. But it goes much deeper than that. What captivated me the most was the other two curses. I was thrown into deep thought. Was I still living in the Eve Zone? I started analysing my past and even present attributes of my life, which led me to ask God to set me free of the Eve Zone and flourish me into the real woman, he intended me to be. Now I need you to read carefully because this would take some time to soak it. Trust me. I’ve spent days asking God to analyse and reveal this epiphany to me in to the smallest pieces possible. Some of you may beg to differ on what I’m about to say but I beseech you to reread the word and ask God to reveal. If you have a different understanding, I would love for you to share in the comment box because we would all love to know how to leave Eve and live as women of God. Not under the curse but in the virtues intended for us.
Genesis 3:16 – Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Reread the verse. Did you notice it? Child-bearing was not all but also stated was, a woman’s desire would be for her husband and he would rule over her. Now it is understood that God made the man as the head, so how then could a man ruling over a woman be a curse? Something to think about. Lets look at part two. “Her desire would be for her husband”. Is desiring your husband wrong? Not at all. However desiring your husband which is flesh over the spirit, God himself, is a curse. Before the curse, Eve and Adam would have been intimate because that was one of Gods creation in creating humans; sex. Would it have been as it is today? Flaunted and over saturating in the media and otherwise? NO. Sex was created to create life “Be fruitful and multiply” and also to create families (to be done with husbands and wives). However, women desires has become more for a man than for God. I’ve heard women say in order for them to be complete, they need a man in their lives. Do not misunderstand me. Nothing is wrong with having a man (husband) in your life but everything is wrong when he takes up the place of God. No man or any of our desires should be for anything more than the creator himself. If that’s where your heart is then you are living in the Eve Zone. We often wonder why our relationships fall apart. Have you considered that in desiring the man more than you do God could be the problem? When we begin to embrace Jesus’s purpose for dying and start removing ourselves from the Eve Zone, everything about our lives would change. Even relationships. Why? Because we will be walking in the reverse of the third curse; “he shall rule over thee”.
As I would have pose the question earlier, if a man was meant to be the head of the woman, then why was the curse of men ruling over us set in place? It means that this was not meant to be so. It is my understanding that men were suppose to be protective leaders to women rather than a ruler. A ruler is one who commands and demands. A leader is one who teaches and guides his people. Doesn’t that sound like God? Think on the verse Ephesians 5:25 – Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; What do you realize? That husbands are suppose to love their wives like Christ love us. Is God our ruler or protective leader? Ahhh. There you go. Though he has the power and authority to rule over the universe, he made himself a servant leader for us. Ladies, this is where it gets deeper. Make a note to yourself that only a man who has a relationship with God, would know how to love you like Christ love the church. All others would be your ruler and not your protective leader. If you are to desire your husband, wouldn’t it be nice to desire a man whose Christ is his head? 1 Corinthians 11: 13 – But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Definitely something to ponder on. Are you going to stay in the Eve Zone and desire the flesh more than God and be ruled by a man, when that was not Gods intention for your life? It’s up to you. Your choice would yield it’s appointed reward.
As a woman, I would however request of you to join me on this journey of leaving the EVE ZONE and walking into that place where God intended for us to be. To become Proverbs 31 women. Women of great virtue, class and honour, that when men behold us they will approach us like the royalty we are and love us like Christ loves the church. Eve was initially the Queen of this world and through sin lost her “crown”. The curses were however removed with Christ shedding his blood on the cross. Lets all reclaim our royal position as women and leave the Eve Zone. Let go of Eve and release the Queen in you. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, now would be the right time to do so. It’s never too late to leave Eve. Once you have life, Christ is waiting on you to redeem you of all your sin and make you into that Proverbs 31 woman. He loves you with an unconditional love. A love that you will find nowhere else but in him. LADIES LETS ALL LEAVE EVE.
