Daily Word: Unconditional Love

Genesis 3:21 – Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

I was rather amazed by this verse because of where  it fell in the chapter. This was after man sin against God and was cursed by him.

The Curse

Genesis 3: 16 – 19  – To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”  Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

Look at the severity of the curse, yet still, after God was so vexed, he did not leave man naked but he clothed them. How many of us can do that? Treat people right in the midst of our anger? I am sure that we many of us can say  “Yes” but when faced with it, would realize it might just be a challenge. However, God in his infinite mercy did it for us. Adam and Even, went through life. They suffered the consequences of their actions but God did not turn his back on them.

It’s the very same for us. Yes we would fall short at times but God is right there. He will not turn his back on us because he has unconditional love for his people. So raise your head and thank God today for unconditional love. I have come to realize, that no man knows what love is until they have come to Christ. Get connected to God and live in his unconditional love.
