So often times we do things and though we confess with our mouths that, “it’s not about me, I just love to help or I love to see change” deep within us there is silent exaltation taking place. This is mostly revealed when something didn’t go the way WE (YOU AND I) wanted BUT don’t you know that it’s really not about you? When we do something, be it spiritually or otherwise it’s to benefit others. As for the Kingdom of God, it’s to bring Glory to the King. Have you not heard, “Lord your will and not mine”.? When we do, we should do what God wants and not ourselves. I look at 1 King 8 and had an epiphany. Although David wanted to build a temple for the Lord, God wanted his son to do so. David was blessed just for having the idea but the idea was established through another person.
1 King 8: 18 – 19 – 18 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart. 19 Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.’
Amazing isn’t it. This reminded me that it was NOT and will NEVER be about me. It’s about the Father’s will being fulfilled. Sometimes we become so engulfed in doing that we start thinking it’s our work, it’s our thing, it’s our idea, whereas all these visions came from the Lord to be fulfilled only for glorifying of his Kingdom. Lets never reach to that place of “BLINDNESS” that we lose sight of our purpose. We were created for worship. With sin entering the world we now have mandate to win souls for Christ, FOR HIM. Though we may receive blessings on earth, our reward is not here but rather laid up in heaven. STOP STORING UP HERE. Keep your minds on things above because it’s not about you.
Matthew 6: 19 – 21 – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
