John 14:21 – He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Love the infamous word of this century that is used so haphazardly and lacks the true substance or meaning. When you love, what do you do ? Do you do things to hurt the person you claim to love or do you live in a manner to make their hearts happy? I tell you sometimes I feel to disregard love because of what man’s definition of it entails. However having and living in the example of true love, I can’t. I need to be the example of love and that is walking in obedience to Gods word. Many of us who calls ourselves “Christians”, say we love but have buried deep within us, a hate for the sister that hurt us years ago. However God commands in Colossians 3: 12 – 13 to – Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. Again I ask, do you love him? Then why aren’t you adhering to these verses. Have we become so deceived that we read only parts of the bible that align itself with the lifestyle we prefer to live than we align ourselves with the word of God? The featured verse (John 14:21) says that if we love God we will keep his commandments (and no that does not mean only the ten engraved commandments), it means keep his word. There are so many things we were asked not to do and yet we find ourselves doing it. How do you expect to grow in Christ and have an overflowing of manifestation from the Holy Spirit if you disobey? Just as you would scold your child or your relative for disobedience, so too your punishment would be a withdrawal from the presence of God. That is a place I never want to be. Its so cold and awry. However to live in his presence I need to obey. If you love God you will keep his word. How deep is your love? Will you put things first or God first? I ask, HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE?
