Daily Digest: How Deep Is Your Love? – Part 2

I expounded a little on how deep is our love for God in my last post Daily Digest: How Deep Is Your Love?. However, I felt the need to touch on the subject again with usage of another verse that can cause me to pose the same question. HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE?

Deuteronomy 6:5 – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

When I read the verse, I envisioned a couple, reading their vows to each other on that special day. Sometimes even before that, people express love to each other, emphasizing on the fact that they will love with all their hearts, minds, soul and body. Though body is not stated in the verse, strength can be transposed with the said word. Strength can be found in the body. These couples, once they would have meant what they said, gives a hundred percent in efforts to make the relationships work. If counselling is needed, that step is also taken. Now lets look at our relationship with God. Do we put the same effort as we do for other things or relationships? I can’t answer for others but I’ll say for myself, I can step up a lot more in dedication. You may wonder how can I be a blogger, especially on topics like these and still not have it right? Simply because I am human like you but I desire to become what I write, if I am not there already. My desire for God is out of this world mentally and must be transcended in my actions. Likewise you. Give him your heart, allow him to do a soul transfusion with you and use your strength for the edification and uplifting of the Kingdom of God. Sounds so simple yet we make it so difficult. As God said to us in John 14:21 – He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” God will manifest himself to us when we adhere to his word and love him with all our hearts, soul and strength. The source of doing this is simply being obedient or as the verse says, keeping his commands. How deep is your love?
