Are the words I’m hearing in alignment with Gods’ character? As I’ve said in the last Women’s Digest, God will never speak something against his word. So too, will he not speak something against his character. Galatians 5:22 -23 outlines the character of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Using these characteristics we can prove if it’s Gods word or otherwise. We must note however, that in order for the fruits of the spirit to be manifested in and through us we must totally surrender to God. We must join our lives to his. Will our will to his will. It cannot be done on our own. We cannot try our man-made solutions and expect to reap spiritual rewards. The two must become one. We must become one with the Holy Spirit. It begins with total surrender, then he speaks and with the spirit dwelling in us, we will be able to confirm his voice. John 10:27-28 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
So I ask, are the words you are hearing in alignment with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law?
