1 Corinthians 8: 2 – 3 – And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
Have you ever met someone who were able to give you all the biblical answers but were not living a Christlike life? There is one such person that fits this description at my work place. All the scriptures are quoted correctly and he knows that if he dies without making things right, he will go to hell, according to him. Does that make sense? From a logical view, NO. I always thought, why be filled with so much information that profits you nothing?
Now there it is in the word and so I say, you can be filled with words and not love to the point of living in obedience, then you are empty. My mom always says “Empty vessels makes the most noise” and I can see the application even spiritually. It profits you nothing to sound intelligent in the word and yet lack in relationship with the King. I challenge you to analyse yourself according to the word and if you anywhere close to being empty, GET IT RIGHT. God requires that we love him to obedience just like Jesus did (Read Philippians 2). Don’t be empty but rather filled with the Holy Spirit and walk in obedience.
