Daily Digest: Fighting Temptations – Part 2

1 Corinthians 10: 12 – Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

This scripture spoke to me on so many levels. I’ve known so many people (even Pastors) who felt they had it all together and the next I knew of them was that they fell away from God, so bad and their lives were in shambles. The very thing that they blast people for, they were now living and to a worst extent. My mom always says to me “If your neighbour house is on fire, wet yours”. Meaning, if something happened to someone you know, do not stand and talk about them but rather, work on yourself. “Sought out your salvation”. Temptations will come but God said he will never give us more than we can bear and he WILL make a way for escape. With Christ in you, you can withstand ALL temptations. However, if you see your brother or sister falling, help them up, lest you fall into the same situation.

Proverbs 24:17 – Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles

PRAYER

Father I pray for my brothers and sisters who are fighting temptations. I pray in the name of Jesus that you will cause a revamp in the spirit man and that they will stand tall, using your way of escape. I know that you are able and just to forgive and I ask that you forgive them and help them to freely accept your forgiveness. I pray that I too will not fall in diverse temptations but stand true and hold on to your word in Jesus name. Amen.
