Daily Digest – Walking in my shoes? Then……

After last night’s Pillow Talk, I came across this piece and thought it would be befitting as a follow up. Do enjoy!

“Unless You Are Walking In My Shoes Do Not Judge My Reasoning Or The Motives Of  My Heart, Because  You Can Never  Fully  Know Them.” Believe it or not, there is a right way, and wrong way of judging”.

The comment above is a testament to the fact that we all go through so much in this life. Some of us go through experiences that are horrendous, and leave the worst unseen wounds imaginable. Others may never even know about that persons wounds, yet will judge a person because of their effects left on them.

We never know fully all the pain another heart has endured!

When I wrote the comment above about judgment it was to bring to peoples awareness that we all judge, no matter what, we all do it. Even when we approve of things, that is a judgment. Harsh judgment can cut a person to the bone, causing harm to mind, body and spirit.

There is a right way, and a wrong way of judging!

The wrong way is when we take on a superior attitude, condemn, humiliate, intimidate, use cuttingly sharp words, or respond with indifference, that is so hurtful!  Technology is being used for this purpose like never before. Just because someone is sitting behind a computer screen typing does not mean that those nasty words sent out, does not hurt the person sitting on the other side of their computer. If one would not say that insult to a persons face, then it should never be typed online either.

Loving and accepting yourself is the key to letting go of judgement.

When you absolutely cannot stand another person it is often because there is something in you, that is reacting to something about them, that you have in common. It is like a mirror reflection is being held up in your face, and we never like that! If you do an honest examination of yourself past, and present, usually you will find that characteristic, about that person you dislike, in you nearly every time. Sometimes we need to reflect awhile, or ask others, but it will eventually surface.

The right way to confront another non judgmentally, is with Kindness, Gentleness, and Love with the goal to authentically help the other person change for the better. Speak to them in a way that respects their human dignity, the way you want to be talked to, encourages and builds up the other person.

Matthew 7:1-3(NIV) “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
