Daily Digest: Trust

What is trust? Though there is a formal definition, I would say trust is believing in something that can sometimes be unknown. Why do I say unknown? Let’s look at trusting in God for example.

The word of God says :

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. – Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NKJV
Sometimes however, we have to trust blindly. This I know all too well. Presently I am faced with a situation where all I can do is trust God to bring a solution. However, the situation has no view. You know the little things we would love to see just to make an assessment? THERE IS NONE! I am literally learning to trust the unknown. Knowing that God will not stare me in the wrong direction. This trust test is sometimes difficult because I would like a little info. God,  can I have a little peak? In such a time he would not even say no. There is total silence as he teaches my heart to depend on him. My mom always said “trust him where you can’t trace him” and oh boy I can’t trace him.

If this is you, don’t give up. For through it all he still deserves worship and praise. Remember he is an all sovereign God and his plans are NEVER to hurt us. So trust him, even when you can’t trace him. He will make a way for you.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. –Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

Daily Digest: Know Your Place

Why do we take credit for the hand of the Lord? Are we more than the God who created us? I would think not. Yet we beat our chest and feel highly accomplished when something amazing happens through us as a vessel. A type of sin that God vehemently abhors. For he shares his glory with no one. All the glory belongs to him.
We are just his workmanship, sent to do HIS WILL. Therefore, it is not our place to take on honour that is not due to us. When we humble ourselves in the hand of God, he will THEN exalt us and our territories will be enlarged.

As we continue to do, let us NEVER gave way to the flesh, feeling as though we would have done something great, for it’s God who gives us the ability to do a work and he is the one who completes it. His word says:

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. – I Corinthians 3:7 NKJV

Lets know our place and give honour and glory to whom it is rightfully due.

Bless the Lord at all times and let his praise continue to be in our mouths. Come on and bless the Lord with me.

Daily Digest: What Will Be Found

When Christ searches the church assembly what will he find? If he searches YOUR HEART, what will he find?

Will he be pleased? Will he be grieved? Will you hear well done my child, keep abiding or will he say, turn from your wicked ways lest I cast you away?

Though we stumble and fall at times, the word of God says we have an advocate who makes intercessions on our behalf. Therefore, we are always equipped with the chance to make things right. Yet, we make excuses and wallow in the sin, guilt, shame and condemnation of our mistakes (which was already nailed to the cross with Christ) allowing us to stray from God even further. A plan that the enemy enjoys and accelerates.

Understand that you were bought with a price (the blood of Jesus) and nothing can separate you from the love of God. Therefore take time to make it right with him. He is waiting for you with open arms. His word says:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17 KJV

What shall be our end if what he finds is not pleasing? Lets make a firm decision to make it right TODAY. Tomorrow might be too late.

Prayer: Father I thank you for your word. I pray by your Holy Spirit you search my heart today. Remove all the things that’s against your word and fill me with the attributes of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I Wonder.

The bible says the heart of man is desperately wicked and from the look of things, it seems to be growing worst. As I read the undermentioned verses, my heart broke. I wondered if I was hurting the heart of God all over again. Was he regretting my creation? What is my life saying to God? Am I pleasing in his sight? Does he smile when he looks at me”? And the list of questions lingers on, with it all boiling down to, is God pleased with me.

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination and intention of all human thinking was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved at heart. So the Lord said, I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away mankind, whom I have created from the face of the ground–not only man, [but] the beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the air–for it grieves Me and makes Me regretful that I have made them.
Genesis 6:5-7 AMP

Yesterday I had a moment of outburst. A situation got me so angry that I had to express how I was feeling. No, I did not use expletives but now reflecting, if I did, there would not have been much of a difference. That’s how bad the outburst was. Thinking about it, I feel horrible. What was I thinking? Where was my self-control? Am I not a Christian? If not for God, I would have been condemning myself. The outburst was that bad.

However, in my heart of repentance, I saw a greater need for more of God. Without him, it is obvious that I can be just as the ungodly man. You know the ones we like to turn up our noses at? We can all be like them if not for the love of Christ. I know it’s the Holy Spirit that convicted my heart and made me see my wrong. How many of us sees our wrongs though? Are we wrong and strong? Or even right but wrong and strong. Don’t understand? Let me explain.

The situation I over expatiated about, was something that I was in rights for confronting. However, the manner in which I dealt with it, made me wrong and boy in my wrongness was I head-strong. So you see, you can be RIGHT, yet wrong and strong. More than the person/s involved who may be hurt, how does God feel when we react to situations? Is he satisfied or hurt to a point of regret. You may say regret is a bit extreme but with so many ungodly people in this world, it’s possible. Why add to the “pot”? Why can’t we be different and make the heart of God smile.

Yes I know, we are all a work in progress but when you see signs of the flesh, you NEED to get on that altar of sacrifice. For the very same God said, no flesh can glory in his presence. I sure don’t want to make the heart of God sad, mad, angry or even regretful and so should you not.

We may struggle with certain characteristics but we are mandated to be Christ-like. That means our issues must be dealt with , buried and never brought to life again. So ponder on it. Ask yourself the same questions I did and see if you are soothing the heart of God or slowly disintegrating it.

Daily Digest: The Surrendered Life

image

To become one with Jesus Christ, a person must be willing not only to give up sin, but also to surrender his whole way of looking at things. Being born again by the Spirit of God means that we must first be willing to let go before we can grasp something else. The first thing we must surrender is all of our pretense or deceit. What our Lord wants us to present to Him is not our goodness, honesty, or our efforts to do better, but real solid sin. Actually, that is all He can take from us. And what He gives us in exchange for our sin is real solid righteousness. But we must surrender all pretense that we are anything, and give up all our claims of even being worthy of God’s consideration.

Once we have done that, the Spirit of God will show us what we need to surrender next. Along each step of this process, we will have to give up our claims to our rights to ourselves. Are we willing to surrender our grasp on all that we possess, our desires, and everything else in our lives? Are we ready to be identified with the death of Jesus Christ?

We will suffer a sharp painful disillusionment before we fully surrender. When people really see themselves as the Lord sees them, it is not the terribly offensive sins of the flesh that shock them, but the awful nature of the pride of their own hearts opposing Jesus Christ. When they see themselves in the light of the Lord, the shame, horror, and desperate conviction hit home for them.

If you are faced with the question of whether or not to surrender, make a determination to go on through the crisis, surrendering all that you have and all that you are to Him. And God will then equip you to do all that He requires of you.

Prayer
Breath on me, Breath of God, until my mind and spirit are in suitable adjustment to You. Shed abroad liberty and purity and power among and in us all.
